Supporting the primary school in Khanike, where around 614 children learn in 18 classes – in a region that has taken in thousands of refugees.
Around 2,500 people live in the Khanike district of the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq, including some 400 Yazidi families. The region has also taken in around 14,000 refugees – its infrastructure is heavily overstretched.
We support the local primary school with around 614 pupils in 18 classes: through renovation work, teaching materials and better equipment for the classrooms.
